What's your voting district?
Colchester has two voting districts for Representatives to the House of Representatives in Montpelier. Each of those two districts elects two Representatives. There are also two Senatorial districts, though nearly all of Colchester is within the Grand Isle Senate district.
The House districts are Chittenden 19 and Chittenden 20.
Chittenden-19 is the Bay Side district and includes the Bay, Porter Point, the area around Airport Park, down Malletts bay road to the Winooski border and the area around Price Chopper. Here's a map.
Chittenden-20 is The Village Side and includes the Village, north to the Milton border, east to the Essex border and includes Saint Michael's and half of The Fort. Severance corner is NOT part of this district. Best to check this map.
The Senate districts are a little strange.
Nearly all of Colchester is within the Grand Isle Senate district, but there is a small portion of Colchester down by Saint Michaels and the Fort that is part of the Chittenden-Central Senatorial district. You can find that portion on this map. However, if you think you might be in this district it would be best to confirm it with the Town Clerk (802-264-5520).
